Patterns are not personality

People often describe their patterns as fixed traits: I am just anxious, I always push people away, I am bad at rest.

Almost every pattern was once an intelligent response to a particular set of conditions. Vigilance made sense in an unpredictable house. Self-sufficiency made sense when asking cost too much.

The work is rarely about deleting the pattern. It is about noticing when it is running, and whether the conditions that required it are still here.
